Radioactivity Monitoring of the Irish Environment 2009

This report presents the results of the RPII’s environmental radioactivity monitoring programme for 2009. This monitoring programme aims to: Assess the exposure of the Irish population to artificial radioactivity in the environment; Review the temporal and geographical distribution of contaminating radionuclides; Maintain systems and procedures which would allow a rapid assessment of environmental contamination to be made in the event of a radiological emergency.
